Common questions
Is Free really free forever?
Yes. Twenty records a month, no card and no time limit. It is not a trial and it does not expire. If you outgrow it, Pro removes the limit and opens the API, but nothing forces you to move.
What counts as a record?
One entry in your ledger: a piece of AI-assisted work you logged as reviewed, or a correction to an earlier entry. Records written by Art50 itself, like the one marking your account being opened, and erasure records created when you delete a file, never count against your allowance.
When does my monthly allowance reset?
On the day of the month you signed up, not on the first. Sign up on the 20th and it resets on the 20th. In months without that date the reset moves to the last day of the month, so you never wait longer than a month.
What is the difference between the two APIs?
The Human Responsibility API, on Pro, records that a person reviewed AI-assisted content and makes that record verifiable. The AI Decisions API, on Business, records decisions your own systems make about people, who reviewed them and who overruled them. The first is about content you publish, the second about decisions you make.
How do I pay for a paid plan?
You talk to us first. We set the plan up on your account and invoice you directly, so nothing starts without a conversation and there is no card to enter on this site.
Is Art50 free for journalists and non-profits?
Yes, permanently, and without the 20-record limit. Independent reporters, newsrooms, registered charities, NGOs and public authorities use Art50 free of charge. It is not a trial or a discount. Apply through the contact page.
Where is my data hosted?
Entirely within the EU, by EU companies. No data leaves the European Union at any point.
Can I export my records if I stop using Art50?
Yes, on every plan including the free one. Ledgers export as files you keep, and anyone can check them at art50compliance.eu/verify without an account. Verification runs in the browser, so your records stay checkable even if you leave.
Does Art50 guarantee I am compliant with Article 50?
No. Art50 records that a human review took place and makes that record independently verifiable. It does not determine or guarantee legal compliance, and it is not legal advice.
